ABOUT ME
I am Dovile, a photographer whose journey into creativity has been full of unexpected turns and beautiful discoveries.
Art has accompanied me since childhood. At the age of four, I began playing the piano, thanks to my mother. She has a beautiful singing voice and plays the guitar, so music was always present in our home. From the age of nine, I attended music school. I graduated with a choral singing specialization and later even enrolled in opera singing studies. Music taught me to truly listen – to silence, to emotions, and to subtleties. Perhaps that’s why I now “hear” light and feelings so clearly in my photography.
After finishing school, I had to decide which path to take. Silencing my heart, I followed reason and chose medical studies. Until 2015, I worked in a hospital in Lithuania, and later, with my future husband, we moved to London, UK, where I continued working in a clinic. People, their emotions, experiences, and fragility have always been close to me. And yet, life had its own plans.
In 2017, I got married, and on our wedding day, I was deeply inspired by the amazing photographer and artist Viktorija Vaišvilaitė. Her work awakened in me what I had seemingly forgotten – the desire to create, to see beauty, and to preserve it. In that moment, I knew: I wanted to live in photography.
When I told my mother that I was leaving medicine for photography, she just smiled: “You’ve always been photographing everyone.” She also said, “You are the archive of our family.” And indeed – everything precious is captured in my memory and in my photographs. What passes in a moment remains forever.

Now, my days are brightened by my two little sons – my constant photo heroes. The little one doesn’t always enjoy posing, but the older one is a patient and wonderful model. They remind me that photography is life itself, full of real moments, imperfections, sincerity, and love.
For me, photography is therapy, a state where I lose track of time, feel neither cold nor hunger, nor fatigue, only light, emotion, and that single moment that becomes eternal.
My greatest passion is portraits of women. It is more than capturing beauty; it is a journey into the inner world, into authenticity, strength, and gentleness. When I photograph, I aim not only to show but to feel the person.
I believe that all people are beautiful – each in their own way, in their own story, in their own light. My work is about seeing that beauty, feeling it, and gently setting it free.
